Premiered by the music box project (Tina Stefanou, Jane Aubourg, Naomi Johnson, Peter Leung, Joseph Lisk, Joseph Franklin) on 7 September 2019, SHALLOW LISTENING, Bendigo International Festival of Exploratory Music @ Bendigo Trades Hall Council, Bendigo, Australia. Repeat performances were presented by the music box project 15-16 May 2021 @ Australia Hall, Sydney, Australia.
the music box project were awarded ‘Excellence in Experimental Music’ for SHALLOW LISTENING - a project that featured the performance of prelude & pickle alongside works by Jaslyn Robertson, Joseph Franklin, Moya Henderson and Jasmin Wing-Yin Leung
prelude & pickle is a collage of (observational, ephemeral, humorous, mundane to deeply personal) thoughts and ideas as explored by the music box project via elements of theatre, colour, movement and sound.
